A webinar will be held on February 3 at 4 pm to address the issue of public procurement for NBS (Nature-Based Solutions). The event is organized by the European project Connecting Nature. You can sign up for the webinar, entitled "Public Procurement: Stimulating or Stifling Nature-Based Innovation?", at this link.
Despite the clear case for investment, public procurement of nature-based solutions has emerged as one of the key challenges impeding wider take-up. The potential of nature-based enterprises to generate new innovations, jobs and wealth creation has also been recognized in the EU Green Deal and Recovery Plan. In this webinar, we bring together experts on public procurement with practitioners in cities and regions to unpick the challenges faced and hear about successful solutions that have been introduced. Participants include: Isobel Fletcher, Director R &I at Horizon Nua; Eleonora di Cintio, NBO Community Ambassador, CNEP and EU Project Manager with Metropolitan City of Bologna; Elsa Durieux, Sustainable Economy and Procurement Officer at ICLEI; Alessandra Aires, Architect with Comune di Torino.
Anyone who wants to join the webinar can bring to the table personal experiences of public procurement challenges or solutions through the interactive polls and discussions during this event. It is important to sign up for the webinar as soon as possible, because registration will close as soon as maximum numbers reached.
