New interesting initiative within the project "Forestami", promoted by the Metropolitan City of Milan, City of Milan, Lombardy Region, Parco Nord Milano, Parco Agricolo Sud Milano, ERSAF and Fondazione di Comunità Milano. The project, launched in 2019 (https://bit.ly/3i17a5q) provides for the planting of 3 million trees by 2030, to grow the natural capital, clean the air, improve the life of the greater Milan and counter the effects of climate change.

In recent days has been launched the activity called "Custodiscimi", created by Forestami together with ERSAF and Legambiente Lombardia: in the period between spring and autumn 2022 it proposes to all citizens who wish to join the taking into custody of a forest seedling, its transplanting, its care and maintenance for a period of about 8 months, and its return to Forestami in autumn 2022, to be planted and then go to form new forests in the agronomic season 2022-2023.

"Custodiscimi" has as its objectives the promotion of a network of active subjects and forms of voluntary and free collaboration with individual citizens or associates, pooling the widespread energies, involvement and awareness of citizenship on the importance of increasing the natural capital of the territory.

The plants to be preserved can be collected on Sunday, March 20 on the occasion of World Forest Day (you can choose between cherry, oak, white elm, pado) by selecting in the participation form the place chosen for the withdrawal: 1000 plants will be allocated to the 9 Municipalities of the City of Milan, 1000 will be allocated to the Municipalities of Metropolitan City adhering to the initiative. 

On the occasion of the National Day of Trees, Sunday, November 20, the plant taken in custody must be returned, during an event of collective planting (the place will be defined later). Once returned, the seedlings will be allocated to the planting projects of Forestami: with your gesture of care you will contribute to the growth of the natural capital of the Milan area.

By filling out the form to participate in Custodiscimi (https://form.forestami.org/custodiscimi), you symbolically sign a custody pact, which aims to enhance the value of participation and seal a relationship based on the principles of mutual trust, responsibility, sustainability and full and timely circularity of information.
